OSAP 2013 Symposium - Call for Invited Sessions

CALL FOR INVITED SESSIONS 
The Educational Programming Committee for the 2013 OSAP Annual Symposium invites you to submit plenary and concurrent session proposals for the 2013 meeting. The Committee encourages submissions that address issues pertaining to infection control & prevention and patient and occupational safety. 

The 2013 Symposium Program aims to present cutting-edge information, skill building sessions and numerous opportunities to learn, share and grow by supporting the following goals:

  • Navigate current changes and emerging issues in science, technology, guidelines, regulations, policies, practices and products;
  • Explore connections, resources and tools to optimize compliance; and
  • Advance a culture of safety throughout healthcare.

Special consideration will be given to proposed sessions with speakers who have not presented in recent OSAP Symposiums.

Note: This is not for scientific abstracts - a separate Call for Abstracts will be posted later

Please indicate your preference for a plenary or concurrent session; however, the Educational Programming Committee will make all final decisions on program format. Session proposals must be submitted electronically via the Invited Session Proposal Form below. Be sure to thoroughly complete all sections of the form as incomplete forms will not be accepted.

SPECIAL NOTICE:  the call for program submissions has been extended until Monday, November 5! Email the completed form no later then Monday, November 5, 2012 to OSAP Executive Director -Therese Long MBA, CAE at tlong@osap.org. Notification of selected sessions will be made by December 1, 2012.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INVITED SESSION PROPOSAL FORM
Session Coordinator/Moderator is responsible for program development and submission, solicitation of speakers and must identify:

  • Title of session
  • Type of session desired (plenary or concurrent) - program should be lecture format and not exceed 90 minutes if a plenary session or 60 minutes if a concurrent session
  • Specific topic speaker will present
  • Description of purpose, goals and content of session
  • At least 3 (three) Educational Learning Objectives
  • Speaker contact information - All contact info must be complete when submitting a proposal. Recommendation: Speakers should not exceed more than 2 in a one-hour period, with approximately 1/4 of the alotted session time set aside for questions/discussion

Guidelines

Audio/Visual:

  • For each session (concurrent or plenary) OSAP normally provides: podium, microphone, screen and LCD projector. Please indicate specific type of microphone requested if one is preferred, whether or not the speaker(s) will use their own laptop computer to present, and if a table is needed for supplementary handouts/materials. If other A/V is requested, contact the OSAP office to determine availability and additional cost. The cost of additional A/V other than what is normally provided by OSAP may require sponsorship/financial support from the speaker or organization requesting additional A/V. 

Conference Registration Fee

  • The 2013 OSAP Annual Symposium registration fee is waived for all speakers selected to present at the conference.
