| DATA-DRIVEN INFECTION PREVENTION INTERVENTION IN A GROUP DENTAL PRACTICE |
| DESCRIPTION |
|
After the breakdown in the infection control protocol in a group dental practice, an established infection prevention (IP) training program was used to test the IP knowledge of the clinical staff. Based on this data, on-site inspections and personnel interviews, a focused educational process was put in place. A post-test was administered several months after the training to ensure that the knowledge base was maintained. |
| LEARNING OBJECTIVES |
|
Participants will learn:
- How to apply the principles of this intervention to clinical practices and educational institutions.
- How to understand the multiple factors involved in system failures and how to address these issues in a positive way to bring about sustainable improvements.
- How to overcome the barriers to maintaining a safe work environment in large dental group practices.
