Fine-particle pollution linked to wider number of cancers, premature births

Researchers have long known that long-term exposure to fine-particle air pollution is linked to high rates of lung cancer and heart disease, but a new study shows it is also associated with sharply higher mortality rates from cancers of the breast, the upper digestive tract and other organs.
