Atlanta – a modern world-class city with a rich and passionate history. OSAP reprises its popular annual city tour and dinearound. You will get an overview of the city's hostory, from its beginnings as a railroad town to its emergence as the economic hub city the southeast, site of the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games, Centennial Olympic Park and home to the Cable News Network, CNN. You will also see the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola in passing.
Adjacent is the Georgia Dome, a facility on the cutting edge of technology and service...the Dome is the largest cable-supported domed stadium in the world. The tour will continue past the birthplace of Dr. Martin Lurther King, Jr., the Center for Social Change, the Apex Museum and the Auburn Avenue business district. We'll drive by the George State Capitol with its eye-catching gold dome.
Other highlights on this tour include: the Fox Theatre, the Georgian Terrace, Margaret Mitchell's home, Memorial ARts Center and the High Museum of Art.
The tour ends in the quaint Virginia Highlands neighborhood where four resestaruants have been reserved for the OSAP tour:
Fritti - both hip and comfortable this restaurant provides a most authentic Italian dining experience. Newly certified by the Verac Pizza Napoletana Association in Naples, Italy; Fritti features 26 varieties of Neapolitan pizzas prepared in hand-crafted wood-burning ovens. Fritti also offers a variety of Tuscan style wood-roasted meats, great fried appetizers and refreshing salads. $$
Harry & Sons - a low-key Thai/Sushi bar featuring simple flavors that are are nicely spicy with plenty of non-intimidating meats and heaps of veggies. $$
Murphy's - contemporary American comfort food in an upbeat atmosphere. A wine shop and not-to-be missed bakery are located in the front of the restaurant. $
Two Urban Licks - from the creators of One Midtown Kitchen comes a Bar-B-Q joint Bubba never dreamt of. Scallops and duck along with traditional favorites on the menu taste as good as they sound. Fantastic, lively interior encased by a stunning view of the city. $$
