||Although most head and neck cancers traditionally have been associated with tobacco and alcohol use, current evidence suggests that about two-thirds or more of oropharyngeal cancers, those of the base of tongue and tonsils, are HPV-positive. These cancers are increasing in a younger, white, male population. |

- Identify the head and neck sites where HPV is most prevalent.
- Identify high risk and low risk HPV types.
- Understand the risk factors for HPV-associated oropharyngeal cancers.
