|STATE OF PRODUCTS AND TECHNOLOGIES|
||The American Dental Association (ADA) leads national and international collaborative scientific research and development activities to create and communicate scientific information that fosters the transfer of leading edge knowledge and technologies into clinical practice. The ADA Science Research Laboratories (SRL) generate information that is unbiased, scientifically sound, clinically relevant, user friendly, and timely. The Professional Product Review (PPR), which reports results of product testing and evaluation, and the Health Screening Program, a longitudinal study addressing occupational safety and public health, are among the activities in the SRL portfolio of products and services. This presentation will detail ADA efforts to create and communicate scientific information on infection control products and technologies to foster implementation into the clinical practice of dentistry.|
After attending this program, participants should be able to:
- Describe the ADA’s product testing and evaluation processes with particular emphasis on infection control products.
- List the professional publications and other avenues the ADA uses to communicate product testing and evaluation findings.
- Describe how members of the dental community can contribute to discovery, study, analysis, and reporting on emerging scientific issues of critical importance to dentistry, including matters relating to occupational safety and public health.
