She also will share CDC social media resources that OSAP members can access to enhance compliance with safe infection control practice.










After attending this program, participants should be able to:
  • Describe social media across CDC especially:
    • How CDC is tackling social media -- Facebook, Twitter handles, Twitter Chats, Google + Hangouts, Pinterest, Instagram, and YouTube use (case study best practice examples)
    • Managing social media at CDC – content creation, scheduling, responding with clearance
    • Resources developed by CDC and available for all to use
  • List steps to strategically plan social media for specific audiences and channels including:
    • Selecting your social media outlet(s)
    • Developing a social media plan
    • Creating Engaging content
    • Guidelines & responding
    • Measuring success (social media monitoring – exposure, engagement, influence, and results)
  • Explain how social media can be used for infection control by providing:
    • Current examples and lessons learned from CDC and others in the field
    • Resources for planning, creating, and evaluating social media reach & influence
