TITLE    CDC's One World Campaign and Relevance to Dentistry

 

 

DESCRIPTION

In the ever shrinking world we live in, the human species is now more interactive with the surrounding environment.  The Centers for Disease Control One Health Program recognizes that the health of humans is connected to the health of animals and the environment.  This course will introduce attendees to the One Health concept and discuss the various impacts we face with the environment that sounds us.  Further discussion and interaction will deal with how One Health involves the practice of dentistry.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After attending this program, participants should be able to:

  • Identify and summarize the concept of One Health that recognizes that the health of humans is connected to the health of animals and the environment.
  • Describe current impacts of significant One Health environmental impacts on humans such as Ebola and other zoonotic diseases
  • Define the relationship of dentistry and One Health
