   Speaker Bio


Ms. Cindy Durley has been employed in the testing field since 1980, teaching statistics and testing and measurement at Loyola University of Chicago, evaluating curricula and examinations for the U.S. Navy, and then developing

Fellowship, Mastership, and self-assessment examinations for the Academy of General Dentistry, as its Manager, Exam Development and Services (1982-1986). Ms. Durley joined the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. (DANB) in 1986, serving as its Director, Testing and Measurement, and as its Executive Director since 1996. She also serves as the Executive Director of the Dental Auxiliary Learning and Education Foundation (The DALE Foundation), an independently incorporated and governed non-profit DANB-affiliated education and research foundation, since the DALE Foundation’s incept ion in March 2010.

In addition, as DANB’s Executive Director, Ms. Durley has been active in the American Association of Dental Administrators (AADA) and served as Secretary in 2013, and ascended to the office of AADA President in 2015. Ms. Durley has held leadership positions in national credentialing associations as well. In 1999, she was elected to the Institute for Credentialing Excellence's National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). She served as NCCA Co-Chair in 2002 and as its Chair in 2003 and 2004. She was then elected by ICE’s membership to serve as the Institute's President-Elect (2005), President (2006) and Immediate Past President (2007). She is currently on the Institute for Credentialing Excellence’s (ICE’s) Leadership Council, and has served on various commit tees and task forces, including the Certificate Program Accreditation Standards Task Force and the Research and Development Committee. She has co-chaired both the Work Group on Assessment and the Benchmarking Best Practices in Certification Task Force. Ms. Durley has a B.S. degree in biology from the University of Notre Dame, a Master ’s degree in education from Loyola University of Chicago, and a Master ’s degree in business administration from DePaul University.
