Kathy Eklund RDH MHP is Director of Infection Control and Occupational Health, and Research Subject and Patient Safety Advocate at Forsyth Institute in Boston. She also is an adjunct assistant professor at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Services and Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene, where she teaches senior level courses in oral health research. She is a past chair of OSAP and also served on the OSAP Foundation board of directors. She volunteers and works with a number of professional organizations, and serves as faculty for the New England AIDS Education and Training Center (NEAETC) and HIVdent.org.

Marguerite Walsh

Marguerite Walsh is Vice President, Product Merchandising for Henry Schein Dental. She is responsible for ensuring, maintaining and surpassing Henry Schein Dental’s position as market leader in merchandise product offerings and category market share, while meeting internal expectations relating to gross profit, inventory management, and marketing expenses. Marguerite is also responsible for further developing Henry Schein Dental’s expertise in selected product categories and developing plans that will result in increased market share and/or profitability. In addition, Marguerite is responsible for specialty sales programs and new and existing supplier relations. Marguerite joined the Henry Schein team in 1991 and has been in the dental industry for more than 35 years.

Mike Smurr

Mike Smurr is the Director of Marketing, Merchandise for Patterson Dental. He began his dental career in 1982 as a territory manager, serving Ohio, Illinois and Wisconsin. After moving to marketing in 1986, Smurr worked in Germany with the international marketing team of Bayer Dental for two years. Returning to the U.S., he held positions of increasing responsibility, from key account manager to national sales manager. He moved to Patterson in 2000. In his current role, he is responsible for interactions between Patterson Dental and more than 800 manufacturers with whom Patterson works.

Douglas Risk DDS, ABGD

Col Doug Risk is the Director of the USAF Dental Evaluation and Consultation Service (DECS) which provides testing, evaluation, and consultative services on dental equipment, materials, infection control, patient safety, dental readiness and other items of interest to the Federal Dental Services.  Col Risk received his DDS from Georgetown School of Dentistry and completed the Air Force Advanced Education in General Dentistry 2-year program in 1997. He has commanded at the squadron and deputy Medical Group levels.  He has been assigned to the Office of the Air Force Surgeon General and has been deployed to the Middle East in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM.  He is a past Air Force Consultant in Dental Infection Control, previously CIC, and is a diplomate of the American Board of General Dentistry.

Ms. Karen Gregory has over 20 years experience working in the outpatient environment, both at the front line delivering patient care and in the management arena. Being passionate about both employee and patient safety, she takes every possible opportunity to improve the quality of healthcare for all involved. She joined Total Medical Compliance in 2006 as Director of Compliance and Education where she is responsible for the development and supervision of compliance programs within the organization.

Evelyn Cuny MS
 
Ms. Eve Cuny is the Assistant Dean for Global Relations and Director of Environmental Health and Safety at Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry. Ms. Cuny is a consultant to the ADA Council on Scientific Affairs and is a member of the National Occupational Research Agenda Council in the Health Care and Social Assistance sector. She has served as an expert reviewer and advisor to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevent ion and is past chairperson of the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) . She received the James Crawford Award for lifetime achievement in dental infect ion control in 2009. She is an internationally recognized expert in infect ion control in dentistry; publishing, consulting and lecturing throughout North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

Dr. Hudson Garrett is currently employed as the Global Chief Clinical Officer for Pentax Medical. He holds a Post-Masters Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner, a Post-Masters Certificate in Infection Prevention and Infection Control, and a PhD in Healthcare Administration and Policy. He has completed the Johns Hopkins Fellows Program in Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control, and the CDC Fundamentals of Healthcare Epidemiology program. He is board certified in family practice, critical care, vascular access, moderate sedation, infection prevention, legal nurse consulting, and as a director of nursing in long term care. He is also a Fellow in the Academy of National Associations of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care and the American Academy of Project Management.

Theresa Mayfield DMD

Dr. Mayfield is the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry.  Dr. Mayfield is a former member of the United States Air Force. She has been a hospital dental consultant and has been in private practice. In addition to her clinical and didactic teaching responsibilities, Dr. Mayfield has been an investigator on Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grants involving community-based dental care for people living with HIV/AIDS, development of emergency preparedness curriculum for dental professionals; and interprofessional education and collaborative practice. She is a member of the American Dental Association and component societies, the American Dental Education Association, the American Association of Public Health Dentistry, the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors, and the Organization for Safety and Asepsis Procedures.

She served 16 years as adjunct faculty at Indiana University followed by six years as the director of the dental hygiene program at Community College of Denver. Dr. David Reznik is Chief of the Dental Service for the Grady Health System in Atlanta, Georgia. He also serves as Director of the Oral Health Center of Grady’s Infectious Disease Program, a program he founded 23 years ago. He has been providing oral health care services for people living with HIV disease in the Atlanta metropolitan area for over twenty-eight years. He is founder and President of the HIVdent (HIV Dent Alliance), a not-for-prof it organization of concerned healthcare providers committed to assuring access to high quality oral health care services for people living with HIV disease.

Still University in Mesa, AZ. She is a member of the American Dental Assistants Association (ADAA) Education Council, and a chair member of the National Speakers Association Georgia chapter.
