Core Infection Control Training for Risk Managers

The Annual Basic Training Course in Infection Control is a core educational package covering all the basics in infection prevention and safety.  This course is a crucial building block for all state compliance officers and risk management professionals.  

The course runs from Monday through Wednesday, January 6-8, 2014 and offers CE credit plus a comprehensive resource binder, checklists, tools and much more.  Registration and additional details will be available on July 1, 2013.

Course Goals

  1. Verify competency in dental infection control and safety principles;
    X
  2. Provide the latest information on the implementation and management of effective infection control and occupational health and safety programs for dental settings emphasizing infectious diseases and occupational risks associated with dentistry;
    X
  3. Ensure participants understand and can implement behavioral change theory in their training endeavors; and
    X
  4. Achieve a consistent level of competency among dental infection control trainers, educators and consultants.

Prerequisites

In order to obtain maximum benefit from this course, it is suggested that all attendees have:

  1. A professional degree (DDS, DMD, RDH, MD, RN); or
    X
  2. A minimum of an associates degree (preferably in healthcare or the life/health sciences); or
    X
  3. Completed basic dental assisting training with at least two years clinical experience; or
    X
  4. Completed a training program leading to either registration (RDA) or certification (CDA) with at least two years clinical experience.
