Dental News From Uganda
Mbarara - February 25, 2007
The Rotary Club International has signed a deal with the dental school, and has agreed to renovate the only dental school in Uganda. They have agreed to renovate the infrastructure and install new dental units in the school clinic. This is out of their charity. Infection control management in this training institution will greatly improve.
The dental school management has agreed to register as a member of OSAP so that the students are trained in practical infection control principles using resources from OSAP.
Dentaid UK, with the help of Dr. Chris Bartoon as the coordinator, has trained people from all over Uganda. This training on dental equipment maintenance lasted 2-3 weeks, and this will help to elongate the effectiveness of dental equipment.
Dental provider membership in OSAP is on agenda for the Uganda Dental Association.
Jonathan Amatu is to make a presentation to the Uganda Dental Association on the OSAPresource Infection Control in Practice.
