Sterilization Archived Through 2012
 FAQ - Sterilization - Archived Through 2012

Could a kitchen-grade convection oven be used for sterilization?

No. Commercial grade cooking ovens do not have the insulation or temperature criteria stringent enough to fulfill requirements put forth by the Food and drug Administration (FDA). It is critical that healthcare professionals only utilize units that have been cleared by the FDA for use as sterilizers.
