“What’s wrong with this picture?” exercises feature a picture with infection control errors and are used by dental teams to discuss what improvements need to be made. See two exercises below.

Exercise 1             

Identify at least two things wrong with this picture. After you have located all the infection control issues, click on the Answers button to verify what you discovered.

 

What's wrong with this picture?

1. Dental burs should be pulled and removed from dental  handpieces with cotton pliers or small tongs

2. The operator is at risk for creating glove micropunctures  and subsequent hand contamination.
