Doni Bird RDH MA

Doni Bird CDA, RDH, MA is the Director of Allied Dental Education at Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) in Santa Rosa, California. She also maintains an infection control consulting business.

Prior to joining the faculty at SRJC, she held teaching positions at the University of New Mexico, the University of Minnesota, and the University of California San Francisco, School of Dentistry. She is the co-author of 5 editions of Modern Dental Assisting, the leading auxiliary textbook in the U.S. and Canada and has published many articles on OSHA compliance and infection control. She has consulted for educational institutions regarding facility design, with emphasis on infection control and ergonomic considerations. She has also participated in clinical studies testing safety devices, and waterline products.

She served as Chairman of the Dental Assisting National Board, and President of the Northern California Dental Assisting Association. She is currently a member of the California Dental Hygiene Educators Association and the California Association of Dental Assisting Teachers. In addition, she serves as a consultant to the American Dental Association, Commission on Dental Accreditation. She served two terms as a member of the Board of Directors of the California Dental Association Foundation. She has been a member and strong supporter of OSAP since 1985.

Doni received her dental hygiene degree from the University of New Mexico and a Masters Degree in Education from San Francisco State University.

Jeff Sherman

Jeff Sherman is the Director of Product Development, Corporate Brands Development for Henry Schein Inc. He has 30 years of experience in the dental industry working in both distribution and manufacturing. Since 1988 he has been involved in infection control products and promotion of safety in the dental environment. A member of OSAP since 1998, he has served on the marketing committee and has attended several annual sessions.

Jeff received his BA from the University of Michigan.

Lori Paulson

Lori Paulson has been Managing Director for American Dental Cooperative, subsidiary of National Distribution & Contracting, for the past several years. She is responsible for building vendor programs to drive market share in the dental industry while working with independent dental dealers in North America to ensure results are achieved. The Quala private label product, ADSTRA Imaging and software products and the Leap Solutions, HIPAA Simple products are a few of the ADC exclusive programs.

She previously was Director of Marketing for 9 years at Pelton & Crane, Division of Siemens Corp. While there, she was responsible for all marketing activities in support of the entire dental product line, including Siemens X-ray and Pelton products. She coordinated all sales meetings and product training activities and was involved in numerous product launches. She began her career in the dental industry with the Midwest Handpiece Company, (currently Dentsply Professional division) in 1981 in the Business Planning and Marketing Departments and was there for 5 years.

She currently is active as American Dental Trade Alliance Board Member at-large and participates in various committee activities. She has also been on the Board of the American Dental Assistants Association Foundation since 2000. She has been involved in OSAP committees and functions supporting the overall OSAP organization for many years.

Lori received herundergraduate degree in Business/Marketing from Lewis University and her MBA from University of Denver.

Doug Braendle

Doug Braendle is US Product Manager for SciCan Inc. and is responsible for product training, including internal and the training of their corporate selling partners. He works with leading industry clinicians and corporate sales partners, including Henry Schein Dental, Patterson Dental, Benco Dental, Burkhart Dental, Atlanta Dental others. He also is in charge of all dental shows, including the "BIG 7".

Prior to joining SciCan, he was with Brasseler and was also territory sales representative for Healthco for 8 years. He began his career with Northwestern Dental, owned by Buffalo Dental, where he was a territory sales representative for 8 years.

Doug received his undergraduate degree (Life Science Major, Business Administration Minor) from Indiana State University.

Margaret (Peggy) Cottrell

Margaret (Peggy) Cottrell is the President of ConFirm Monitoring Systems and was also co-founder of Cottrell Ltd in 1979. She has more than 27 years of successful business ownership, executive management and strategic leadership experience along with consulting expertise for successful venues in diverse healthcare products manufacturing, distribution and related support services.

She co-founded OSAP in 1984, recognizing a need for collaborative efforts on the part of healthcare professionals, academicians, clinicians, manufacturers, distributors, and government agencies to engage not only in dialogue, but to establish uniform standards and procedures for infection control and disease prevention for the dental industry.

She serves on the Executive Committee of Oral Health America, is a member of the Dental Trade Alliance and is a First Responder with the Denver Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Anthony (Tony) Angelini

Anthony (Tony) Angelini is co-founder and co-owner of Aegis Communications, where he is also on the Board of Managers of the company. He is publisher of Compendium and Inside Dental practices dental publications and was previously a co-owner of Dental Learning Systems. He has 21 years experience as a media/marketing consultant for several leading dental manufacturers and is regarded as a publishing partner for several manufactures engaged in integrated marketing solutions using numerous marketing channels of distribution.

Carmen (Yolanda) Bonta DMD MS

Carmen (Yolanda) Bonta DDS, MS, MS is Executive Director, Hispanic Dental Association. She previously was with Colgate-Palmolive Corporation for 18 years, where she was Director of Technology. Her widespread responsibilities in oral care included managing global professional relationships and marketing activities, clinical research and development, and the introduction of new products.

She also was involved in academe serving for 6 years as Assistant Clinical Professor at SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and 4 years as Associate Professor and Instructor in Medicine (Microbiology) at the University of Puerto Rico Schools of Dental Medicine and Medicine. In addition, she has held numerous administrative and fellowship appointments; she serves or has served on various editorial boards, academic and scientific committees, is the recipient of several professional awards and honors, has authored many research publications and journal books, is a member of numerous professional and scientific societies, and she holds 2 patents.

Yolanda received her BS (Biology) from Pace University, her MS (Microbiology) from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, her DMD from the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine, and an MS (Oral Biology) from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Leslie E. Grant DDS MSPA

Leslie Grant DDS, MSPA owns a dental practice in Baltimore City, provides school-based public health services with the city's health department and is a compliance officer with the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners.

As a college student, her interest was in speech pathology and audiology. She received a bachelor's degree in speech and hearing from Boston University, and a master's in speech pathology and audiology from the University of Washington. "My interest in dentistry evolved from my work as a speech and language pathologist,” she said.

She has been a member of the National Dental Association since 1986 and served as its President in 2006. She also is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and numerous other organizations, task forces and Boards of Directors. She has received many awards and professional honors including being named one of the 100 Most Influential African Americans in 2006 by Ebony Magazine.

John M.G. Hunt OBE FFGDP(UK) BDS

Dr. John Hunt OBE FFGDP(UK) BDS previously was Chief Executive of the British Dental Association. He joined the UK's Department of Health after spending 5 years in Hong Kong as Clinical Dental Surgeon at the Prince Philip Dental Hospital. His career also includes 3 years at the London Hospital Dental Institute and 10 years as a general dental practitioner in Torquay, UK.

He is Director of Smile-on Ltd., chairs the Advisory Panel of Dentaid, the UK based dental charity. He is a member of the General Dental Council's Appointments Committee and Chairman of his local village hall and playing field trust at home in southwest England.

John graduated as a dentist from Guy's Hospital in London, UK and, after a brief spell as a house surgeon, he obtained a Fulbright Scholarship to study at the Eastman Dental Center in the US.

Jennifer Naylor

Jennifer Naylor is General Manager, IMS and Infection Control Strategic Business Unit at Hu-Friedy Manufacturing where she has overall financial and management responsibility for the development and implementation of the global strategy for IMS and disposable product lines.

At Hu-Friedy since 2001, she also has served in several marketing positions, including Director, Dental Products and Director IMS and Surgical Products. She has wide-ranging experience in strategic planning, creating educational and training materials, managing new product teams, launching new products and developing strategic alliance partnerships with key industry leaders.

Prior to joining Hu-Friedy, she held product management and other marketing positions for 5 years with Leica Microsystems and Abbott Laboratories, where she had responsibilities that included capital equipment and pharmaceutical products, public relations, creating sales budgets and forecasts, and technical liaison for customer support groups, marketing and sales.

Jennifer received her BS in Biology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her MBA from DePaul University.
