OSAP 2015 Symposium: Infection Control - Gaining the Edge

TITLE    D-Prep: What is it and Why is it Important?

The American Association of Dental Boards (AADB0 has developed the Dental Professional Review & Evaluation Program (DPREP). D-PREP has developed a comprehensive curriculum to evaluate the competency of dentists referred by State Boards. D-PREP was launched in 2012. The 4-5 day assessments are conducted at three calibrated sites approved by the AADB; the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry, Marquette University, School of Dentistry and Louisiana State University, School of Dentistry. Upon completion of the assessment a report is sent by the D-PREP site coordinator to the State Board clearly documenting areas where remediation is indicated. This course will explain the D-PREP process.

Lou Depaola DDS MS

After attending this program, participants should be able to:

  • Understand why D-PREP was implemented.
  • Learn about D-PREP
  • Discuss the reporting process of D-PREP.
