  • Many oral health leaders in infection prevention and safety will be attending the June symposium of the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP). This provides an opportunity for both OSAP and the Division of Oral Health of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to collaborate on a focus group to help inform future strategies.

#HOW (prework, meeting agenda)

OSAP IC Research Agenda Meeting

All participants will be given five minutes at the beginning of the day to address the following questions:

(1) What could be improved in the CDC dental infection control guidelines to ensure that these guidelines are most effective in achieving infection prevention and patient safety?

(2) In the next version of the guidelines, what updates are needed to the content?  Any sections to be added?

(3) Regarding the guidelines, what could be done to optimize adoption and compliance?

(4) As one of several stakeholders who work together to achieve the outcome of infection prevention and patient safety within dental practices, what do you see as your organization's role in achieving this outcome?

(5) Regarding the future workforce in dental infection control, what challenges need to be addressed in order to develop and maintain leaders in research, education, public health, industry, the profession?
