November 19, 2018 (ATLANTA) — The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP), a community of clinicians, educators, consultants, researchers, and industry representatives who advocate for the Safest Dental Visit™, has launched the Journal of Dental Infection Control and Safety, an online, peer-reviewed, professional journal. The inaugural issue features OSAP's white paper on dental unit waterlines that offers guidance to manufacturers and clinicians as well as recommendations for voluntary consensus standards.

Dr. J. Hudson Garrett Jr., Editor in Chief, OSAP board member, co-founder, and president of the nonprofit Infection Prevention Institute, writes, “The Journal of Dental Infection Control and Safety is the industry’s premier peer-reviewed publication that addresses the infection control and safety challenges in oral healthcare across the continuum of care.”

“The journal,” he continues, “is open to all healthcare professionals that are interested in advancing evidence-based practice, reducing healthcare-associated infections, and improving safety for both the dental healthcare team and the patient. The journal is a must-have to ensuring compliance with regulatory, clinical standards, and accreditation requirements in the oral healthcare setting, and is a source of dissemination of clinical best practices.”
