June 5, 2017 (ATLANTA) —  At the intersection of education, research, and emerging trends, the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP), a community of clinicians, educators, consultants, researchers, and industry representatives who advocate for the Safest Dental Visit™, has announced a session on infectious diseases and politics at the OSAP Annual Conference. The session, Late Breaker! Pathogens, Policies, and Politics, will take place on Friday, June 23 at 1:45 pm and spotlights the national and international updates on critical disease threats. Featuring esteemed experts from the CDC and academia, the two-hour panel will also discuss and explore antibiotic resistance and healthcare under a new administration.

The session, supported by an educational grant provided by Hu-Friedy, includes panel presenters:

• Hudson Garrett PhD, MSN, MPH, Global Chief Clinical Officer, Pentax Medical, OSAP Board Member (facilitator)
• Michael Bell MD, Deputy Director of Division of Healthcare, Quality Promotion from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

• Lauri Hicks DO, Medical Epidemiologist for NCIRD, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
