After properly washing hands, can you apply hand lotion prior to donning gloves?

Infection Control and Management of Hazardous Materials for the Dental Team states:

Lotions with a base of petroleum, lanolin, mineral oil, palm oil, or coconut oil have detrimental effects on latex gloves so these types should only be used at the end of the day. Lotions containing aloe vera, glycerin, vitamin E, or Vitamin A are fine to use.¹
