July 11, 2022 (ATLANTA) — The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) has announced the members of the 2022-2023 OSAP Association Board of Directors.

“We are excited to have David Kierce as our new Association Board Chair for 2022-2023. A longtime supporter of OSAP, with a wealth of corporate marketing and finance knowledge, David will help position OSAP’s reach and influence in the years ahead," states Michelle Lee, Executive Director.

David Kierce is the Global Platform Leader for Dentsply-Sirona’s Infection Prevention Product Line. Kierce has been on the Dentsply-Sirona team for over 25 years. He started with DENTSPLY Ceramco in June 1993 as a Territory Sales Representative. From there, his career has grown to include leadership roles in special markets, merchandising, and marketing.

Steve Geiermann, DDS, FACD, FICD was elected as Vice-Chair. Dr. Geiermann, a retired Captain in the U.S. Public Health Service, serves as the Senior Manager addressing access, community oral health infrastructure, and capacity within the American Dental Association (ADA). He served as a dental director in the Indian Health Service and Federally Qualified Health Centers as well as being an HRSA regional dental consultant and project officer within the National Health Service Corps and the HIV/AIDS Bureau. He served on the Board of Directors of the National Network for Oral Health Access (NNOHA) and was an expert advisor for Safety Net Solutions seeking to improve the financial stability and productivity of health centers. He currently serves on the advisory committee for the Oral Health Progress and Equity Network (OPEN) and the board of the American Institute of Dental Public Health (AIDPH).

Steve Wright, MBA will serve as Treasurer. Mr. Wright is the Vice President of Global Marketing for Young Innovations, a 100+-year-old dental manufacturing company making some of the industry’s leading brands in the preventive, restorative, and infection control categories. In this role, he provides strategic leadership and creative direction for all marketing activities across the business including brand management, lead generation, new product launches, digital marketing, and e-commerce. Mr. Wright has participated with OSAP as a Corporate Sponsor for over 10 years and has a passion for improving the infection control practices in the dental office while spreading the OSAP message across the dental industry. Mr. Wright holds an MBA from the Washington University in St. Louis Olin Business School and a BA in Journalism from Oswego University. Mr. Wright has been in the dental market for over 20 years. Prior to joining Young in 2004, Steve worked for Lanmark360, a healthcare marketing agency predominately focused on the dental industry.

Ramneek Rai, DDS was elected as Secretary. Dr. Rai is the Director of Health and Safety and HS Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences at UCSF School of Dentistry. She is an alumna of UCSF School of Dentistry where she earned her DDS Degree in 2009. Dr. Rai has been active in private practice and academia after finishing her Advanced Education in General Dentistry at UT Dental Branch, Houston, in 2010. Dr. Rai has served as the Director of Health and Safety at UCSF School of Dentistry since 2018 where she has successfully led the school through the last Commission On Dental Accreditation (CODA) site visit and ensured safe operations at UCSF Dental Center through the COVID-19 pandemic. She has been instrumental in the implementation of various evidence-based measures safeguarding the frontline dental workers and patients during the pandemic. In her day-to-day role, she manages a successful Infection Prevention Program at the 17 dental clinics that fall under UCSF Dental Center, many of which student learners receive their clinical education.

Our newly elected board members include Kimberly Grensavitch, MJ, BA, RDH, Col Kelli C. Mack, DDS, Marguerite Walsh, and Michael Williamson, JD, CHC, CCEP.

Kimberly Grensavitch, MJ, BA, RDH is a Registered Dental Hygienist with a master’s degree in Health Care Law and has been in the dental field since 1999. She also earned the OSAP-DALE Foundation Dental Infection Prevention and Control Certificate. She served as a regulatory compliance leader for a large accredited dental organization in WI prior to her current role as a Regulatory Compliance Advisor for SKYGEN USA. She is passionate about patient safety and has spoken, and been published, nationally on infection control in dentistry. She is also dedicated to public health and helped start a free dental clinic in her community in 2015 and continues to serve on their Board of Directors.

Col Kelli C. Mack, DDS currently serves as the Dental Research and Consultation Service (DRCS) Assistant Director, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and Patient Safety at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Mack advises Air Force Medical Readiness Agency (AFMRA) on current issues relevant to dental infection prevention & control and patient safety, acts as a liaison between DoD and DHA consultants, dental specialties including but not limited to infectious disease (ID), epidemiology, operating room nursing, instrument processing, bioenvironmental engineering (BEE), public health (PH) and MTF Infection Preventionists. Col Mack opens and maintains lines of communication with Federal regulatory and advisory agencies including OSHA, FDA, EPA, OSAP, the CDC and other recognized authorities in the fields of dental IPC and patient safety. As the Air Force Dental Consultant for Dental Infection Control and Patient Safety, she develops and publishes approved guidelines and training for the USAF Dental Infection Prevention & Control and Patient Safety Programs. In this role Col Mack assists USAF dental clinics in developing effective programs by disseminating information via periodic IPC and Patient Safety updates and by direct, written and web-based communication. Col Mack is also responsible for providing assistance in resolving operational issues to include assistance in conducting patient safety event investigations. Col Mack received a direct commission in the U.S. Air Force Dental Corps following graduation from Howard University College of Dentistry, Washington, DC. She completed a fellowship in Patient Safety and Infection Prevention and Control at Veterans Affairs Pittsburgh Healthcare System, Pittsburgh, PA. Col Mack was the first Consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General for Dental Infection Control and Patient Safety in 2014. Prior to her current position, she was a General Dentist and MDG IPC Consultant at Travis ABF in California.

Marguerite Walsh is Senior Advisor, Corporate Development Group for Henry Schein Dental. She is responsible for ensuring, maintaining, and surpassing Henry Schein Dental’s position as the market leader in merchandise product offerings and category market share, while meeting internal expectations relating to gross profit, inventory management, and marketing expenses. Ms. Walsh is also responsible for further developing Henry Schein Dental’s expertise in selected product categories and developing plans that will result in increased market share and/or profitability. In addition, Ms. Walsh is responsible for specialty sales programs and new and existing supplier relations. Ms. Walsh joined the Henry Schein team in 1991 and has been in the dental industry for more than 35 years.

Michael Williamson, JD, CHC, CCEP is the Chief Compliance Officer/Chief Privacy Officer for Pacific Dental Services LLP. He has been a compliance and ethics professional specializing in health care compliance for over 20 years. He is passionate about leveraging organizational values and culture to optimize risk mitigation. Michael is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the New York Bar. He founded a law practice that specialized in all aspects of healthcare compliance, served as Assistant General Counsel in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Health & Human Services, and has held Chief Compliance Officer, V.P. of Risk Management and Chief Privacy Officer positions in the private sector where he has successfully designed and implemented ethics and compliance programs rooted in the principles of values-based, self-governance.
