Eve Cuny, MS

Eve Cuny, MS

Ms. Cuny is the Executive Associate Dean at Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California, where she is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences. Ms. Cuny is a consultant to the ADA Council on Scientific Affairs and is a member of the National Occupational Research Agenda Council in the Health Care and Social Assistance sector. She has served as an expert reviewer and advisor to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She received the James Crawford Award for Lifetime Achievement in dental infection control in 2009. She is an internationally recognized expert in infection control in dentistry; publishing, consulting and lecturing throughout North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. She has also earned the OSAP-DALE Foundation Dental Infection Prevention and Control Certificate™

David Kierce

David Kierce

David Kierce is the Global Platform Leader for Dentsply-Sirona’s Infection Prevention Product Line. Kierce has been on the Dentsply-Sirona team for over 25 years. He started with DENTSPLY Ceramco in June 1993 as a Territory Sales Representative. From there, his career has grown to include leadership roles in special markets, merchandising, and marketing.

Doug Risk, DDS

Immediate Past Chairman
Doug Risk, DDS

Dr. Risk is currently in private practice and is the Compliance Manager for Tidewater Dental in southern Maryland. His current position includes compliance assurance and accreditation preparation for a 6-Office Dental Group Practice. After graduating from Georgetown University Dental School in 1987, Dr. Risk joined the US Air Force where he served in several clinical assignments before being selected to attend the 2-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center. Following residency, he had clinical and command assignments as well as an assignment on staff with the Air Force Surgeon General, culminating as the Director of the Air Force Dental Evaluation and Consultation Service. He deployed to the Middle East and Central America. He retired in 2017 after 30 years of distinguished service. Dr. Risk currently serves on the Executive Board of Directors for OSAP, is a Diplomate of the American Board of General Dentistry, and is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.

Matthew R. Ellis, MPH, CIC, REHS

Matthew R. Ellis, MPH, CIC, REHS

LCDR Ellis serves as the U.S./DHHS- Indian Health Service (IHS) Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator, assigned to the IHS HQs Office of Quality. LCDR Ellis served as the Portland Area Institutional Environmental Health Officer Health, from 2010 to 2018, as the sole provider of infection control and environment of patient care support to 43 federally recognized Tribes in the region. LCDR Ellis is Co-Lead and an architect of the regional healthcare accreditation readiness team and served collaterally as the Public Health Emergency Management Coordinator. He has provided Agency-wide support on infection control issues and led multiple infection prevention training initiatives across the IHS. LCDR Ellis is CBIC Board Certified in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC), a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS), and an authorized OSHA General Industry Trainer. LCDR Ellis is a United States Army infantry veteran and has completed healthcare infection control and safety position tenures with a private healthcare consulting firm, University of Kentucky Medical Center, and the Veteran’s Healthcare Administration. 

 Steve Geiermann, DDS

Steve Geiermann, DDS

Dr. Geiermann, a retired Captain in the U.S. Public Health Service, serves as the Senior Manager addressing access, community oral health infrastructure, and capacity within the American Dental Association (ADA). He served as a dental director in the Indian Health Service and Federally Qualified Health Centers as well as being an HRSA regional dental consultant and project officer within the National Health Service Corps and the HIV/AIDS Bureau. He served on the Board of Directors of the National Network for Oral Health Access (NNOHA) and was an expert advisor for Safety Net Solutions seeking to improve the financial stability and productivity of health centers. He currently serves on the advisory committee for the Oral Health Progress and Equity Network (OPEN) and the board of the American Institute of Dental Public Health (AIDPH).

Jessica Wilson, MPH

Jessica Higginbotham, MPH

Ms. Higginbotham is an International Business Development Manager with HuFriedyGroup. She is an international speaker, trainer, and educator focused on Infection Prevention and Infection Control Compliance. Jessica is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and has a master's degree in Public Health with a focus in dentistry from A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ. She is a member of the American Dental Assistants Association (ADAA) Education Council and a chair member of the National Speakers Association Georgia chapter.

Julie Lynch, MS, BSN, RN

Julie Lynch, MS, BSN, RN

Ms. Lynch is the Director of Clinical Development for American Dental Partners, Inc. Her focus is on supporting all American Dental Partners affiliated dental group partnerships in the growth of quality management and improvement endeavors such as Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), professional development, provider credentialing verification, and regulatory matters. Ms. Lynch came to oral health care passionate about patient and team member safety after serving more than 20 years in a large healthcare system in both direct patient care and leadership roles.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Concordia University Wisconsin and her Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois.

Theresa Mayfield, DMD

Theresa Mayfield, DMD

Dr. Mayfield recently retired as the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Dr. Mayfield is a former member of the United States Air Force. She has been a hospital dental consultant and has been in private practice. In addition to her clinical and didactic teaching responsibilities, Dr. Mayfield has been an investigator on Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grants involving community-based dental care for people living with HIV/AIDS, development of an emergency preparedness curriculum for dental professionals; and interprofessional education and collaborative practice. She is a member of the American Dental Association and component societies, the American Dental Education Association, the American Association of Public Health Dentistry, the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors, and OSAP.

Aaron Pfarrer

Mr. Pfarrer is the Director of Merchandise at Patterson Dental Supply with 25 years of experience building the company's professional and consumer oral health care business. He has made contributions in global business, marketing, and brand management, portfolio management, product, and technology development, and launch, professional and industry relations, clinical and scientific affairs all resulting in market-leading products.

Ramneek Rai, DDS

Ramneek Rai, DDS

Dr. Rai is the Director of Health and Safety and HS Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences at UCSF School of Dentistry. She is an alumna of UCSF School of Dentistry where she earned her DDS Degree in 2009. Dr. Rai has been active in private practice and academia after finishing her Advanced Education in General Dentistry at UT Dental Branch, Houston, in 2010.

Dr. Rai has served as the Director of Health and Safety at UCSF School of Dentistry since 2018 where she has successfully led the school through the last Commission On Dental Accreditation (CODA) site visit and ensured safe operations at UCSF Dental Center through the COVID-19 pandemic. She has been instrumental in the implementation of various evidence-based measures safeguarding the frontline dental workers and patients during the pandemic. In her day-to-day role, she manages a successful Infection Prevention Program at the 17 dental clinics that fall under UCSF Dental Center, many of which student learners receive their clinical education.

Raleigh Wright, DDS

Dr. Wright is currently the Chief Clinical Officer for Lane & Associates Family Dentistry, the largest group practice in North Carolina.  A 1994 University of North Carolina School of Dentistry graduate, Dr. Wright has spent his entire tenure with Lane. Dr. Wright feels strongly about supporting outreach dental organizations, has volunteered for multiple Mission of Mercy dental clinics and dental buses, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Wake Smiles Community Dental Outreach.  He was recently elected to the NC Board of Dental Examiners, is currently an Examiner with CITA - Council of Interstate Testing Agencies, and attends many Continuing Education events to maintain a comprehensive knowledge of current trends and technology in dentistry.

Mr. Wright is the Vice President of Global Marketing for Young Innovations, a 100+-year-old dental manufacturing company making some of the industry’s leading brands in the preventive, restorative, and infection control categories. In this role, he provides strategic leadership and creative direction for all marketing activities across the business including brand management, lead generation, new product launches, digital marketing, and e-commerce. Mr. Wright has participated with OSAP as a Corporate Sponsor for over 10 years and has a passion for improving the infection control practices in the dental office while spreading the OSAP message across the dental industry. Mr. Wright holds an MBA from the Washington University in St. Louis Olin Business School and a BA in Journalism from Oswego University. Mr. Wright has been in the dental market for over 20 years. Prior to joining Young in 2004, Steve worked for Lanmark360, a healthcare marketing agency predominately focused on the dental industry.

Michelle Lee, CPC

Michelle Lee, CPC, began her tenure as Executive Director of OSAP in 2018. She has more than 30 years of experience in the dental and healthcare industries. In 2020, she was recognized as one of Incisal Edge’s 32 Most Influential People in Dentistry. Her experience includes leading the Southeast’s largest dental and medical staffing firm, as well as consulting with dental practices, and providing leadership and team development training. Michelle is passionate about OSAP’s mission to be the leading provider of infection prevention and control education, training, and credentialing that supports safe dental visits.
