2016 Annual Conf Read and Write IFUs

OSAP 2016 Annual Conference - Leading the Way to the Safest Dental Visit™

TITLE    How to Read and Write Instructions for Use (IFU’s)

The instructions for use (IFU) for dental devices and products can be frustrating for clinicians to follow and challenging for manufacturers to develop.  Targeted to both manufacturers and clinicians, this breakout session will explore some of the common mistakes that can appear in an IFU, how manufacturers can improve an IFU to make it more clinician-friendly, and criteria clinicians should look for in an IFU when introducing new products or devices into their practice. The presentation portion of this session will be followed by an interactive exchange among manufacturers and clinicians regarding how to model appropriate communications to manufacturers, as well as how to maximize the value and effectiveness of IFUs.
