Overview

The OSAP Dental Infection Control Boot Camp™ is a core educational course covering all the basics in infection prevention and safety. The OSAP Boot Camp is a crucial building block for every dental professional with infection control responsibilities.

The course runs from Wednesday-Friday, January 23-25*, 2019 in Atlanta, GA and offers 24+ hours of CE credit plus a comprehensive resource binder, checklists, tools and much more.

Program

National and international experts in infection prevention and patient safety will deliver a fast-paced, comprehensive curriculum. The course starts at 7:30 am on Wednesday, January 23 and concludes at 5:00 pm on Friday, January 25 for civilians.

*Federal Services attendees will have additional training sessions on Saturday morning (Jan. 26).

The Boot Camp curriculum, information on the faculty, agenda, continuing education and other details regarding the educational program will be posted as soon as possible.

Important Benefit:  An added benefit of attending OSAP’s 3-day Boot Camp qualifies for Step 2 of the new 4-Step OSAP-DALE Foundation Dental Infection Prevention and Control Certificate Program. Both those who wish to become or are now employed as new dental infection control coordinators, as well as more experienced dental infection preventionists can earn this prestigious Certificate demonstrating their knowledge of a comprehensive dental infection prevention and control curriculum. The new Certificate will serve as one component of eligibility requirements to earning the OSAP-DANB Dental Industry Specialist in Infection Prevention and Control (DISIPC) industry credential coming in 2019 or the OSAP-DANB Certified in Dental Infection Prevention and Control (CDIPC) professional certification, coming in 2020.

We are offering a workshop that will take place before OSAP Boot Camp on Tuesday, January 22nd from 2-5pm. This exciting program is based on over 25 years of experience with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality with the TeamSTEPPS curriculum. 

OSAP is excited to offer this workshop to help you break down communication barriers between healthcare professions.

  • Infection control coordinators in busy dental practices
  • Educators responsible for infection prevention and safety instruction
  • Compliance officers in group practices and on dental boards
  • Federal service employees responsible for infection control in their duty stations (NOTE: there will be additional training sessions for Air Force, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Public Health Service and Veterans Administration attendees - Details including uniform and paperwork requirements will be made available)

The 2019 OSAP Dental Infection Control Boot Camp™ offers 24 hours of continuing dental education (CDE) credit. Federal Service personnel may qualify for an additional 4 hours of CDE credit.  Space is limited so register online today! OSAP member registration fees apply to all membership levels above Basic. Deadlines for hotel and course registration:

  • Monday, December 31, 2018
  • After December 31, 2018, there will be a $75 surcharge to register if space is available.

Cancellations received in writing by December 31, 2018, are eligible for a refund. A $75 administrative fee will be applied to all refunds. Cancellations received after December 31, 2018, are not eligible for refunds.

Permissions

OSAP offers registrants contact information to facilitate networking after the course. By registering, you give OSAP permission to include your name and contact details on the list. If you do not wish to be included on the list, email your exclusion request to office@osap.org by December 31, 2018.

OSAP takes photos during the course. By registering, you give OSAP permission to use any images taken at the course in which you appear, as well as any written comments you submit on evaluation forms.

Special Notes on Military Attire                       

AIRFORCE: The uniform of the day for AF personnel is Service Dress for Wednesday and the jacket is optional for Thursday 24 Jan - Saturday 26 Jan 2019.

ARMY:  Army uniform is Class B.  Civilian attire for the federal breakout session on 26 Jan.

NAVY: Uniform of the day will be: Officer Khaki Service Uniform, Enlisted Service Uniform (civilian attire is authorized for attending breakout session 26 January 19).
