ABOUT THE 2020 OSAP VIRTUAL CONFERENCE

 

Q: What is a Virtual Conference?

A: A virtual conference is an online event hosted in a virtual environment. You will be able to log in online to remotely attend all of the education sessions, meet with exhibitors and sponsors, and network with fellow attendees. It’s just like an in-person conference, but you attend via your computer or smart device from anywhere!

Q: Why is OSAP having a Virtual Conference?

A: Due to the continuing impacts of COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our in-person Annual Conference and the pre-conference OSAP Basic Training – Dental Infection Prevention and Safety Course. We were really looking forward to seeing you in Minneapolis; however, the health and safety of the dental community must come first. So, we’re going virtual!

Q: Will the OSAP Basic Training – Dental Infection Prevention and Safety Course still be taking place?

A: OSAP has decided not to host the Basic Training – Dental Infection Prevention and Safety Course as a virtual conference. However, OSAP will be looking into offering some of the sessions as webinars spaced throughout the next couple of months. More details to come!

Q: When will the 2020 OSAP Virtual Conference take place?

A: Thursday, August 13 – Saturday, August 15, 2020

Q: What if I'm unable to join online for those days?

A: Your registration for the virtual conference comes with access to recordings of the sessions for one year after the conference is over. Access will expire on August 15, 2021. However, please note that session recordings are not eligible for CE credit.

Q: Will I be able to network with other attendees at the virtual conference?

A: Yes! The 2020 OSAP Virtual Annual Conference features one-on-one chat, group discussions, and an appointment booking tool to help you can connect with other attendees from across the world. We will also be hosting daily happy hours at the end of each day!

Q: How do I access the Virtual Conference?

A: Start by registering for the event. Before the event begins, you’ll receive an email with a link to access the virtual platform and further instructions on how to navigate throughout the platform.

Q: How do I register for the 2020 OSAP Virtual Conference?

 A: Click here to register. If you are a member, please be sure to log into your account before registering to receive the correct pricing.*

Q: How much is it to attend?

A: OSAP has decided to offer an unprecedented discount - 50% the regular conference registration rates - making the virtual conference a cost-effective experience for all budgets! See full registration pricing here.

Q: I already registered for the in-person OSAP Annual Conference and/or the OSAP Basic Training – Dental Infection Prevention and Safety Course in Minneapolis. What are my options?

A: You have four options available to you!

  • Option 1: Transfer current registration to the virtual Annual Conference. Based on the original ticket purchased and your status as a member/non-member of OSAP, you will either receive a refund for the difference or be charged for the difference. The refund or additional charge would be processed within the next 90 days.
  • Option 2: Transfer your current registration to the 2021 OSAP Dental Infection Control Boot Camp™. OSAP will apply your funds to your registration for this event taking place January 25-27, 2021, in Atlanta.
  • Option 3: Cancel registration and receive a full refund back to your original payment method. Please allow up to 90 days for this to appear on your next credit card statement. If your registration was paid for via check or purchase order, please call us at +1 (410) 571-0003 for further assistance.
  • Option 4: Transfer my current registration to a coworker/colleague. You will be contacted by OSAP within the next 30 days to update the registration information.

Q: I already registered for the in-person conference in Minneapolis. I’m not sure which new option I want to select. How long do I have to decide?

A: The deadline to decide will be Wednesday, July 15. If we do not hear back from you by then, OSAP will automatically register you for the Virtual Conference and you will either receive a refund for the difference or be charged for the difference based on the original ticket purchased and your status as a member/non-member of OSAP.

Q: What happens if I don’t submit my preference?

A: The deadline to decide will be Wednesday, July 15. Q: What are the registration deadlines for the Virtual Conference?

A: The registration deadlines are as follows:

Early bird: Friday, July 17
Advanced: Friday, July 31
On-Site Rate: After Friday, July 31

 
REFUNDS  

 

Q: I registered for the in-person conference. I want to attend the Virtual Conference, but I noticed that registration is now a lower cost. Will I receive a refund for the difference?

A: Based on the original ticket purchased and your status as a member/non-member of OSAP, you will either receive a refund for the difference or be charged for the difference. The refund or additional charge will be processed within the next 90 days. To choose this option, click the link below and select Option 1.

Q: How do I receive a refund if I registered for the in-person Annual Conference, but do not want to attend the Virtual Conference?

 A: Click the link below to submit your preference and select Option 3. You will receive a full refund back to your original payment method. Please allow up to 90 days for this to appear on your next credit card statement. Q: How long will it take for me get a refund?

A: Refunds will be issued within 90 days.

Q: I cancelled my registration before the Virtual Conference was announced. Will I receive an additional refund?

A: If you cancelled your registration for the Annual Conference prior to its cancellation, your refund after processing fee was/is being issued. If you’d like to attend the virtual conference, please process a new event registration.

Q: How do I cancel my hotel reservation?

A: If you made a hotel reservation with Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, the hotel will cancel your reservation for you. If you have any additional questions regarding your reservation, please contact the hotel directly at 612-370-1234.

Q: Will I receive a refund for my purchased Private Lake Cruise ticket?

A: Yes. If you have already purchased a ticket for the Private Lake Cruise, OSAP will issue you a full refund for the ticket. Please allow 90 days to process this refund.

Q: Will I receive a refund for my Welcome Dinner Additional Guest ticket?

A: Yes. If you purchased an additional ticket for the welcome dinner, OSAP will issue a full refund. Please allow 90 days to process this refund.

Q: I still have an open invoice for my registration. What are my options?

EDUCATION  

 

Q: How many continuing education credits can I receive if I attend the 2020 OSAP Virtual Conference?

A: You can earn up to 14.50 CE credits!

Q: Will the agenda remain the same as the in-person Annual Conference?

A:The continuing COVID-19 pandemic leaves many unanswered questions, especially for those in the dental field. Every year, our sessions cover the emerging infection control issues and topics specific to that year. We updated the original agenda to provide more information, clarity, and guidance through this unprecedented time. Click here to view the agenda

Q: Will the sessions be streamed live?

A: Yes! The sessions will be live streamed where you will have the ability to interact in real-time with the speakers for question/answer. The full schedule is anticipated to be released soon. With your registration, you can access all recordings of the sessions for one year after the conference ends. However, please note that session recordings are not eligible for CE credit.

Q: What if I can't attend the 2020 OSAP Virtual Conference?

A: On-demand recordings of sessions will be available for purchase after the 2020 OSAP Virtual Conference.

Q: How will the exhibit hall work on a virtual platform?

A: The virtual environment offers a unique way for exhibitors to connect with attendees. You can visit virtual booths to see what is offered, talk with sales representatives, and even set up one-on-one meetings.

Q: I enjoyed the Safety Points Game at the in-person event last year. Will there still be a Safety Points Game this year?

A: Yes! The details are still being finalized. More information to come soon!
