Instrument Processing: Facts and Answers to Your Questions (Educational Funding Provided by Tuttnauer)

Many steps and protocols are involved in ensuring effective and repeatable infection control for safe patient care. Among these, one of the critical components is instrument processing. During the first part of this webinar, we will discuss recent questions about instrument processing and the answers to these questions. The second part of the webinar will be an open question and answer session addressing questions submitted by live webinar attendees during the webinar.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Review common questions in instrument processing and be able to provide the correct answers to these.
2. Give an overview of infection control protocols, in particular instrument processing.
3. List and describe at least three misperceptions related to these protocols.

Speaker: Fiona Collins, BDS, MBA, MA

Dr. Collins has given presentations throughout North America and in Europe, the Pacific Rim, and the Middle East. She has educated dental professionals and students through interactive live presentations, webinars, and continuing education articles. Dr. Collins has also worked with organizations to deliver practical information that enhances patient care and safety, including the delivery of Stakeholder content for OSAP for the Safest Dental VisitTM. Dr. Collins is the American Dental Association representative to the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI); a member of the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and OSAP; a participant in standards working groups; and a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
